Suffering After Abortion?
For information on Surrendering the Secret click here!
Is someone YOU know suffering after an abortion? We realize
in a post Roe vs. Wade world there are very few of us who have not been touched
in some way by abortion. The statistics are staggering! One in four women have
had at least one abortion. Based on current statistics, 1/3 of all women will
have had an abortion by the time they reach 45. The sad facts are that the
woman is not the only person affected by the abortion. There is a man who will
not be a father to that child. There are often two sets of grandparents that
will never know the joy of that grandchild. Aunts and uncles are denied the joy
of nieces or nephews. The reality is that child will never be. These family
members need to grieve the loss of the child just as they do when they lose a
family member. The inability to grieve or the refusal to allow the grief
process to occur has far reaching psychological consequences that can affect
each of these family members for years or decades. We want to reach out to
those who are suffering silently from the results of their choices. We offer
Bible Studies and counseling. Please let US be a source for comfort and healing
for those who are suffering!
Post-Abortion Syndrome
What is Post Abortion Syndrome (PAS)? Post-Abortion Syndrome (PAS) is a very real psychological disorder affecting many women who have had an abortion. The world would say that after an abortion there should be feelings of relief, since this was the “best” choice for the mother. In actuality there is relief immediately after the event, but soon after feelings of guilt and shame begin to surface. To deal with these negative emotions the psyche tends to repress and deny there is a problem. Most post abortive women do not become symptomatic for 5 years; some repress the emotions for 10 or 20 years. At some point the negative feelings bubble up and full blown PAS is experienced. Oftentimes events precipitate the PAS, such as the young woman finally decides to have a child, or a close friend or relative has a baby. Sometimes the young woman finds out she is sterile or some other life-changing event occurs. Whatever the catalyst, once PAS becomes symptomatic it is important to identify the problem and deal with it for the healing to begin.
What are the symptoms of PAS?

Guilt

What can I do? If someone you know is suffering from PAS, please refer her for help! We conduct a self run Bible Study, Forgiven and Set Free, created to help those suffering from PAS deal with their grief at their own pace. It is sometimes done as a small group study, other times it is done individually. Other options would to put the person in touch with a trusted professional. Contact Us for more information. We want to help the healing begin!
